It's that time of the year...

Wrestling Season...

Last weekend while at a wrestling tournament for Landon's little brother I said to Land, "It's weird that I know so much about this sport. And it's even weirder that I really like it!"

I guess growing up as a "tournament rat" (the kids who run all over the place, with the other tournament kids) with a big brother who was a good wrestler, combined with attending Wasatch High School could be a scary combination for a young lady like myself.

Every year in my house from November to February was built around wrestling. My dad especially talked wrestling all the time. who's good, who's ranked, who's injured, etc. I must admit, I enjoyed it!

This picture is of Landon in high school. (He's the one standing--or I probably wouldn't use this picture)... :) It's kind of ironic that I married myself a wrestler without meaning too.

Here's to wishing you and yours a happy wrestling season :)

Oh Brother!!

Today I miss my brothers...

Danny & Scott

BECAUSE:
They make me laugh...(a lot!)
They're cute... see
They both have style :)
They are both really good at listening.
They are both very real & deep.
They love me.

Meet Danny, my 24 year old stud of a brother. He's a smarty pant pre-dental student (hey maybe he'll hire me one day?) who actually really likes chemistry, biology, & the sciences alike--we must be siblings :) He is studying at UVU & lives in happy valley (Orem). Danny has always been "the funny man" around our house & we all get a kick out of his humorous ways. He also has a killer singing voice & plays the guitar & is a wicked awesome skier. Oh and he has some pretty sweet moves on the dance floor!! I love to sit and listen to him sing & play the guitar, and sometimes, he even lets me do a little harmony with him. Well, I love this boy a whole lot!...aaand so does my sister Amy.. haha I say that because she's written more about him
HERE! So if you want to know more about Mr. Dan check it out....

Then there's Scotty. He is also a funny guy. He has an appreciation for the odd things in life and it would not be unusual to find him in the DI/Thrift Store looking for the latest and greatest in trends :) to be sure that he is dressed "appropriately" for all occasions. He is on a mission in Africa right now and is SOO positive. In fact, it's become kind of a family joke because he's positive about everything from having malaria right on down to his garments being ruined by mold! This kid always has a smile and has been a late night talk buddy of mine on many occasions as we were the last two kids at home together for awhile. I sure love him & can't wait to see him again. Again, my sis, (who is also marvelous and I always miss her & her cute family too:)) has written a bit more of Scotty-watt HERE if you're interested--(side note--these were written in 2007, so both brothers looks have changed a bit)... Oh and she also took some awesome "super senior/pre-mission" pictures of him before he left.. See those here!

Anyway, no particular reason for missing these boys, but I do, and hope they know I love them like crazy!!

Icky Sicky

I haven't been sick in awhile, but it's a real treat... NOT!

I just love the feeling when your nose is raw at the bottom and every tissue that touches it feels like a bite of banana cream pie.
I think it feels really good when you've had to sneeze for a full hour, so you rub your eyes and your face itches, and you stare at the light, but still nothing comes!
Oh, but I really like it when you wake up and it hurts so bad to swallow, so you can't go back to sleep until you get up and drink some water or take some medicine or something--now that's fun

Okay, but let's be honest. I'm not as sick as I could be, and I'm grateful for that!

I heart the derby!

Landon and I have this little thing for derbies...Could have to do with the fact that I grew up in Heber City? (where derby tickets are sold months in advance, and sell out in hours! haha)
Could be that landon enjoys hunting birds?
Could be that we like to dress up and be silly?

The reason really doesn't matter because the point is... We love derbies!!

Last year ...

we went in Logan and had a total blast with
Les & Coco

& Lacey!!!

(Lace, I thought this picture said more sideways, so I left it :))

AND THIS YEAR!
Ryan & Kylee Wayment came up and we carried on the tradition!
We had some yummy shredded beef soft tacos & yummer corn & black bean salsa & hit up the ALL TRUCK DERBY! Talk about some HARD HITS! Trucks are crazy! I think the best part of the whole thing (besides being with Ry & Ky) was dressing up!

How would you like to see this walkin' down the street?

Landon: cap on backwards, in alyse's tight pink tank top with a picture of a fish, cowboy boots, and a smile!
Alyse: men's hunting shirt (tucked in haha) with sleeves to the waist (landon's), tattered and painted jeans, sandals, and a nappy head of hair, oh.. and a smile!

Or maybe you'd rather see this?

Ryan: Jersey, backwards cap, tattered jeans
Ky: Rockin those stretch pants, jelly shoes, Ryan's Maverick T-shirt, and some beads to maintain style!

It was such a good time! Ky & Ry even brought "CARS" fruit snacks for dessert! Perfect!
Thanks guys! We love you!

The only source of contention

There is only one thing that can get Landon & I a little "huffy" if you will.

WEBER STATE vs UTAH STATE

Athletic Events :)
*Photo courtesy of last year... yucky hair

I do a really good job at keeping my cool (because I've never been a super competitive person), but sometimes my purple pride just wants to see my alma mater--my offerer of four wonderful years--win!  Like tonight for instance!

But tonight...
Oh tonight...
At the Dee...
7:30...
Kylee & Ryan...
Landon & I...
Purple & Blue...
Fun for a few?!
We'll see.. who?!

haha... wow.. that wasn't actually supposed to be a poem, but it turned into one. I must be my mothers daughter. :)

Anyway, the Aggies are favored for tonight's game, but we'll see what happens!

Oh and P.S. (I'll probably be chastised for this post now that I live in Logan)...

Back to school...

Okay, so this is only like oh... i don't know... 10 or so weeks late right?!

Landon and I went from our blissful, stress-free summer days--back to school....

Can't you tell we were so excited?

This year Land is the USU Business Senator and even has his own desk & computer which he refers to as "my office" (because his work is "the office")...

Anyway, our schooling has been going well. It's gone fast for me, and it's stayed fairly simple--which I'm grateful for seeing as how I drive a couple of hours each day for my program. It's too bad that I'm so terrible at blogging that you have to see a back to school post in November...

Oh well.
I'll slowly catch up!
